hi everyone ! i'm new to this forum.i've got a problem with the forward and reverse on my control box.as in when i go to put it in reverse it feels very stiff to move it and sometimes when i'm on the water at full throttle if i go to slow it down, again it is stiff and won't go into neutral.the engine is a 60hp mercury 1996.
out of the water the throttle lever moves ok in forward but is stiff in reverse.
i have disconnected the forward and reverse cables from the engine and now the throttle lever moves smoothly both ways.any ideas as to why the throttle lever is stiff in reverse, when normally connected ?
