Rack for motorcycle

I am welding up this rack for the back of my KLR650, it will keep things from being donated along the trail :) <br /><br />Made from 3/8" square tubing that I scavenged, it will bolt on top of the little factory landing pad that the dealer calls a rack.<br /><br />

Good job KLS....nice rack! <br />I am going to make sort of the same thing for my KLR650. I think I am going to make an enclosed rack, (I guess that would be a box then, eh)<br />Last year when I put my HUGE saddle-bag on my bike and turned the other way to get my helmut, the weight in the bag shifted and the bike fell on its side and broke the rear turning signal and left a couple scars. :( <br />Got to have balance and no weight shifting. <br /><br />B.C.

Nice rack (I like saying that w/o getting slapped :D )<br /><br />I used to swipe the old 6 gallon milk crates from the mess hall that had hinged lids. If I ever dumped I would just get a new one.

At first glance of the topic I was thinking "Rack on a bike? Why a gun rack on a bike? I never saw one of those on a bike". Glad I checked it out. My redneck thinking takes over in the mornining when I get up. Sorry bout that.<br /> :) Nice job, those small jobs like that are hard to keep square from warping. Ya did good KRS!

SS my redneack thinking clicked in to, i thought i was going to see some picture of a biker babe :) tricked again but that is a nice rack :D

KRS, That should work. I just screwed some plywood together to make a lunch box rack for my old Beemer.<br />
