I just wanted to post my results from raising my 110 HP Rude up 2 holes, it was in the 2nd set of holes before (from the top) I have a 17 P SS prop and was getting about 40 MPH at around 5800 RPMs. the fin was under the water when running WOT and trimmed out. it also had some porposing when I trimmed it up, the porposing was worse at lower speeds. I raised my motor up to the bottom set of holes, now my boat jumps up on a plane instantly, I cannot believe the difference. almost no bow rise, I did not have GPS with me but if felt like I hit 40 at around 5200 RPMs, I think I may have gained 3-5 MPH, I will report after run with GPS. I have to start out trimmed all the way down, I do have a small wedge, maybe 5 degree, not sure. If it is trimmed up any it will slip some on start. I can trim it up some before it wants to start to ventilate. it hits 5700-5800 RPMs before I start trimming, then I can get it to 6000 after that it starts to vent. this was loaded, live well full, cooler full, 2 tackle boxes 3 batteries 3 people 3/4 tank fuel and other misc stuff. I may need to go back to my 19 pitch prop.
