Hey guys,
I ended a great day fishing by running aground. I was going under 10mph and I hit a soft bottom (mud and sand) bar. The boat didn't come to a full stop but slowed until I raised the engine. On the way to the ramp the engine started to run like it was bogging down and it was sputtering a little. At the dock, with the engine idling I noticed large bubbles coming from the prop area.(not like the normal exhaust). There was also a little water spitting out of the three holes midway up the shaft in the back. I inspected the prop and lower unit casing, no visible problems.
I am guessing some king of gasket or broken seal?
If any of you guys has a suggestion, I would sure appreciate it. Thanks again!!
BTW-I have a 1994 120hp Mercury Force.

Hello
Sounds like you may have clogged your water intake in the lower unit, this could have caused your engine to overheat, thus causing poor performance. Dont see any other obvious cause by just running aground. As long as your prop did not pickup something to entangle it which could cause it to bind.
Good luck

I would be able to see if the water intakes were clogged from just looking, right? They look clear... I still can't explain the large abnormal bubbles from the prop area

Hello
You would see a clogged if it were externaly plugged , but depended on what you ran up on (muck?) the water pump can pull material in and clog internally.
If the air bubbles are coming from the prop hub I would blame it on exhaust, If the engine is running rough it could seem like abonormal bubbles
Good Luck
