At least they are allowed to leave. One past Presidents people are either: dead, indicted or in jail.

Interesting response could be pro or anti admin, JB and I saw it as getting rid of the bad guys but some saw it as an attack on my party and then dog just showed his ... and need for post.

Well said, DJ. :)

White House Staff jobs are man (and woman) killers. Nobody should stay more than 4 years.

All those generals are covering their butts to avoid any accountability for their failure to persuade. Persuading is part of their jobs. They are the ones who should have been fired.

I think the generals should be reminded that generals don't have any input on who should be Sec Def! Looks to me as if they were a bunch of "yes" men while on active duty (read that as didn't have the balls to stand up when they were accountable, yet now they're freakin experts).

There are a lot of W's out there.
Waltons, Wheatons, Wallyworld, Slick Willy, Who, What, Where, When?
Oh you must be talking about all the W keys removed from the White house computers when another admin left the (W)hite house!
Now that was a class act!
(W)hite trash comes to mind. Another W
dogsdad nailed it and DJ & JB backed it up.

Don't forget to take your meds ;)

Re: Rats are abandoning ship

it is funny how retiring on the dole allowed some generals to sprout cojones.
I can understand not sprouting them before retireing as there is a small section in the UCMJ that can get one tossed in the big house and or fired.
like gen Pace said, all they can do is advise. at the days end thats it.
once the civilian leader makes the decision all the military can do is suck it up and do the best with the plan at hand, no matter how flawed it looks.
same as captains call on the ship, we would all give an input but at the end of captains call the captain would tell us his plan and the response was aye aye sir.

So true, well said :)
I always pays for one to take a step back when attempting to view the big picture.

No president or first lady ever do the packing, the curators and many of the employees who work there on a daily basis have witnessed quite a few presidential administrations come and go, errors are made and will always be made, no one is incapable of error in expounding doctrine on faith or morals.

Rats deserting? Hardly!
How about W replacing staffers whose faces are reminders of early term issues that have drawn criticism. Some are burned out too. It's typical second term adjustment. Most POTUS do this.
As for the generals, half of them didn't report directly to SecD and were not on-board with the lighter/faster military revamp. That's their axe to grind.

Donald Rumsfeld in his prime -- say the spring of 2003 -- could have swatted away criticism from a few old generals likes pests at a picnic. The fact that he can no longer do so is a telling reminder of how much confidence the public has lost not only in the secretary of defense but also his boss.
