Re decking pontoon boat and need help

I just bought a 1988 Lowe 28 ft potion boat and I'm in the process of re decking it and as I was pulling the plywood off I noticed that every 4 ft that the cross brace the plywood sits on is different and the plywood sits in a notch and all the plywood I've been looking at don't have a notch in it and I have no way of doing it if there any one that can help me or know what to do help would be great I have watch videos and talked to some people and they all said that it should just sit in top of the cross braces and the plywood should but up together pics or advice is very much apprechatted

If the old stuff has a notch running along the edges, it shouldn't be too hard to create the notch with a router, if I am picturing it correctly. Routing the edge woud only take a few minutes per edge.

Those are H channels you have there. I have them as well on my pontoon. You have two options...the first is the easiest option. Measure the channel that the plywood slides into and buy that thickness plywood. I would almost put money on it that it will be 5/8". The only downfall to this option is that after you lay carpet you will notice that you will have raised spots in the carpet. The second option is to buy 3/4" plywood and route the edges down to 5/8". That will make the deck level.
