re paint of 1966 johnson 6hp

Im going to be re painting my 1966 johnson but have a couple of questions. the skeg is almost fully bare with all the paint having fell off and some bare parts on the mid section just form wear and tear. my question is do i use a zinc or etching primer for the bare aluminum and subsequently do i need to prime the parts that have a good layer or paint or is sanding it and then just giving it a couple coats of enamel paint good enough, thanks

experts will chime in but ....
yellow zinc chromate primer .. paint is needed ...from what I read anyway for aluminum ..
probably best to blast all the paint off and start fresh
