Thanks to the info here I've decided to stay away from a 1984 glastron with the OMC drive

So this Friday I've narrowed down my choice to two.

First 1992 Javeline fish and ski with 200hp Johnson. Everything is solid and sound and looks great $3500

Second 1987 procraft fish and ski with 150 Mercury. Very very clean and just had motor all checked out $3500

They darn near look the same and a similar almost all around.

Any advice on problems with either y'all heard of or even good info on them would be great

Thanks,
DC

Do not know anything about the Javelin, but my brother had a Procraft for a number of years and had no complaints. Personally I am a
Johnson fan rather than a Mercury fan, but those mercs do have a good reputation. My experience comes from many years back when I used to work on them, in my opinion the OMC outboards were better built, but that was back in the 70's.

At that age either would be OK if they pass a stringent inspection, especially the motor. Floor, stringers, and transom strength would be #1 concern. Next the fuel tank ... if those check out you should have less to worry about. The Procraft would have greater name recognition in some areas but again-- age and price balances that out.
