I had some questions answered about trim hydraulic fluid. I now know I can use Dexron ATF. One question is...... I lost fluid during removal of my trim motor (cracked open lines to lift motor up out of way). I dont know what type of fluid is currently in it. Can I just add the ATF to what is in it now (mixed with other), or do I need to remove what's in it and replace the fluid entirely? Also, can I use permatex on the base of my trim motor, outside of the o-ring, for a little extra leak protection. If so, would I apply permatex, let it dry, and then mount the part, or...... apply permatex, mount it, and then let it dry mounted. I am ready to tackle the task this evening, but I want to get it right the first time. Thanks

Re: READY TO INSTALL !!!!!

You can mix. :)

A tiny gob of grease would be a better 0-ring seal-assist. Well lubricated O-rings are wonderful things.
