I spent some time doing comparisons on FF's. Looking at the specs I found a unit that had excellent power. Went to the Lowrance/Eagle website and it backed up what those specs were. Ordered the unit. Now the specs on the booklet are not what was in the comparison. Plus it didn't match to what the mfg's website said.

I know I should make a big fuss, and send the unit back. However time is getting short for launch date and this unit a Seafinder 320DF by Eagle has a good display and still has adequate power for the depth of water I mainly fish in.

I just hate it when false information in specs are printed. Why have them if they don't correctly correspond with the unit.

As a minium I would send them an e-mail and ask them what's up? From what I read they are a reputable company and something is very wrong. Maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised and find out the manual is wrong.

Are the specs better or worse that came with the unit? I'm sure eagle will make it right.

Re: Really Confused or PO'ed

The specs said 500 watts rms with 4000 watts peak to peak. The manual says 188 rms and 1500 peak to peak.

Personnaly I didn't think this unit really had that kind of power for the price of the unit.

I'm going to email the people who I purchased it from and explain my frustration on there specs. I'm not looking to gain anything off this, but to prevent someone else from doing the same thing.

BTW, it was not from iboats, but I should have spent the extra $$$ and ordered it through them though.

Thanks for the replies

How do you know the unit itself is indeed as advertised and its just that the book is wrong. Publishing errors happen and for an error like that they will use up the existing stock before reprinting. If the test reports and the web site agree, thats two out of three! 188 RMS is sort of an odd number anyway so I further question accuracy of the book. Rather than ***** right off the bat, question the accuracy. Then if you did not get what was advertised, send it back.

Is it possible you WANTED a 320DF (SeaFinder), but GOT a 320 (FishMark) ???

320DF - SeaFinder - 500w(?) / 4000w peak-to-peak.
320C - FishEasy- 100w / 800w peak-to-peak.
320 - FishMark - 188w(?) / 1500w peak-to-peak.

Re: Really Confused or PO'ed

Hi Rabbit, On the FF itself says SeaFinder 320DF. Just sent Eagle an email about the problem on there website. On their website it does say that the Seafinder has 500 watts rms with 4000 peak to peak.

The manual does cover the FishMark 320 and the SeaFinder 320DF. The only differences I see in their specs is that the Fishmark 320 is 800' while the Seafinder is 1500' and one is dual freq while the other is single freq. This tells me that mabe that the Seafinder does have the extra power. Could be just a error in the manual. Either way this unit looks like it will fit my needs. Thanks, now to wait for a reply from Eagle.

This kind of mistake should get me a free unit! Yeah uh huh, Right. Never happen...

Yes. The 320DF (as in Dual Freq) is a deep water fishfinder while the other two 320's are not. I'm thinking you got a 500w DF and the sloppy documentation has you (any probably others that bought a 320DF) confused.

Re: Really Confused or PO'ed

they probably use the same manual for all "320"s. The features and functionality is the same for all with the exception of the df transducer and power.

Re: Really Confused or PO'ed

Yep, That is what it was. Improper documentation in the owners manual. It does have the 500 watts rms and 4000 peak to peak. Not a bad unit for under $220. At least not for that power rating.

So I'm not PO'd or confused anymore.....just happy! :D Now to get it installed and the boat ready for the season.

Thanks shipmates for the replies.....SS
