Re: Reassembly of Leaf Block Assembly...

Thank you Admiral ... Daviet mentioned the drill method to me as well...this particular needle valve is cabled and the Lean Rich knob attaches to the other end through the front face plate. I have thinking on how I can spin this thing to dress up with the other end cabled. Any thoughts? And thanks for the set up tips I am anxious to get to that point!

Just thinking, do you know anybody with a small benchtop lathe, I guess it could be any size lathe? The tool heads are usually of the pass through type and could accept the flexable portion of the jet.

I was afraid you had the flexible cable type needle valve. Right off the top of my head, I can't think of a way to dress up that tip, however...... a trip to the local machine shop with that needle valve in hand would be worth a shot, nothing to lose.

Check your Yellow Pages and see if it is a clock repair shop in vicinity.
Those people normally have small laths to make their shafts and wheels when restoring old clocks and watches.
Used one locally when I was still 'in business' and needed that kind of work done.
Even managed to make new needles at a fraction of BRP costs.

Well I am happy to say that my 1968 9.5 runs awesome (in the tank) and I can't wait to get it on the Lake on the gheenoe. I am anxious to see how it runs under load. Thanks again for all the tips and help you all are great. I have my eye on a 5.5 Johnson that runs and isn't much money as my next tinker motor. More to follow!
