I had my 72 Bomber crap out on me last month. Would run fast idle but that's it. Tried fresh gas with seafoam and it made no difference. Will fast idle all day but bogs out and stalls when you try and go.Plugs look good. Should I clean/rebuild carb? Shop says $80 a side. I have a manual but it's very vague. I'm familar with old Jeep carbs but never done much to a boat. Any suggestions?

The carbs themselves are very simple. The linkages are a nightmare. You might consider doing the rebuilding yourself and have a Sync & Link done at a shop. Another problem is access. You have to take a lot of crap off to get to them. You'll definately need a manual to get it all back together again.

I got a manual and it says the carb is a type a version. Supposedly the d type is easy. I think I may take it in.
