Re: Recommendations for value priced water seperator?

We had some problems with four-strokes loosing fuel pressure. We install clear fuel lines and found when rigged with the 3/8 fuel line to the engine there was air bubbles in the line. The term cavitation may not be the proper name. We found that when rigged with 5/16 from the fuel separator either Racor or water fuel seperator to the engine the problem went away and the air bubbles went away. When we preformed a vacuum pull. The pull was much greater with 3/8 fuel line all the way. The information is put out there so no one has to go thru what we went thru. The rigging guide has 5/16 fuel line as there guide lines.

Thanks BillP and Vinney for the clarification. I stand corrected on the 4-Strokes. Just had to know why for my own info...

Just an FYI - not meant to dispute any of the above. But my Crestliner has 3/8 running to the engine and it is Bombadier brand line. I assume my dealer simply used his stock 3/8 hose and didn't pay too close of attention tot he rigging manual? i sure wish I could see this rigging manual because there are several things on my new boat I'd like him to address if I know I am right.
