connect red lead of ohmeter to ground, black lead to alternator terminals (1 at a time)meter should show continuity, reverse leads and repeat, meter should show no continuity. connectblack lead to positive terminal, red lead to alternator terms. (1 at at time) meter should show continuity. reverse leads and repeat, meter should show no continuity. all wires to the rectifier must be disconnected before testing.don't forget to disconnect battery first, and reconnect rectifier wiring before starting engine. make sure to connect battery right way round.
