Refilling Power Tilt unit

I have a Ranger R93vs with a Yamaha 200 outboard. I want to change my power trim oil and need help. When I tilt the motor up the only port hole is mounted on the side (Horizontally) of the tilt unit reservoir and when I open it the fluid comes out and looks dark gray(cloudy).

How do I empty it and fill it back when that port hole is mounted on the side of the reservoir? Won?t the fluid get to the level of that hole and spill back out?

I'm trying the same thing with my 1997 175hp. Did you have any luck?
