"Refurbished" GPS

Are "refurbished" units any good? There are a lot of refurbished units on ebay.

My 2 cents, you have lemons in new, used or refurbished. Oddly enough I was just talking about refurbished product with somebody and they claim they would have refurbished just the same as they would have new didn't matter to them as it doesn't matter to me. But you got to consider warranty and guarantee also. I have gotten one faulty part off of ebay out of 7, beware of the sellers feedback. Refurbished can save you a pretty penny also. They also should be able to show that it is a refurbished unit.

I buy refurbished whenever I can and have never had a problem. They have always looked and worked like new in every way. In one case the refurbished product carried a better warranty then the new.

i picked up a refurbished garmin 172c off ebay at the beginning of september. it looked brand new, works great not a problem with it and it came with a 1 year factory warranty. oh, the price was great too.

a lot of new items are sold as refurbished, as the packaging was damaged, or opened, and cannot be sold as new. or returns.

I got my 172c from a place called getfeetwet.com It is a referbished unit.
garmin sells referb units that carry the same warranty as a new unit.
I was told that referb units from the factory have updated software also.

Thanks for the info guys! I wouldnt mind saving some coin buying a refurbished one.As long as they back it up.
