The regulator has been replaced three times now and each time burns up. I replaced the stator, the powerpack and the ignition switch. I noticed that the wiring plan shows only one red wire from the regulator, however Mercury appears to only make it with two red wires. There were no problems until I attached one of the red wires so that it could charge the battery, I don't know where the other red wire would go, but I do know that once I connected one red wire the regulator blew and it was fried. Can anyone help me on this one.
