Removal of steering wheel

Alright, bought a steering wheel from here. but im not sure how to get the old one offf. theres a pin in the on a rod. im guessing the steering rod. but do i have to take the whole thing out just to replace the steering wheel??

remove the center dics on the wheel, there is a nut behind it. loosen the nut, to the top of the threads, to protect the shaft. now scoot down with your knees behind the wheel applying pressure, hit the nut with a hammer a really good whack, the wheel will pop of the shaft.
