My 225 RO evenrude runs well as is ( with thermostat fitted) but here in South Africa we get pretty high temperatures during the summer especially from November through to February, when day time temperatures are in the 30 to 40 degree c range from 11:00 to 14
o some guys recomend the removal of the thermostat, but I have my concerns, the motor will run too cold and will take too long to reach a optimal running temperature. I do not know if two strokes suffer the same symtoms of four strokes at to low temperatures such as ,bore wash down, higher fuel consumption and more wear while they are warming up, wear might not be effected because of the oil mixture (50:1) Kind Regards William Wright
