Remove Black Stains from Deck and Hull?

I've got a white non-skid deck with a pebbled surface. It has picked up black stains that cannot be removed with boat wash and scrubbing. Some of the stains were from shoe soles until my wife outlawed shoes with black soles on the boat, but I'm not sure what the rest of the stains are. I also have black streaks on the hull from where the boat sits on a rack at our marina. Is there a product or products that will remove this black stuff?

Thanks!

have you tried a magic eraser? they usually work wonders. pick it up at any supermarket. if you have kids, you probably already know about it. They will take crayon and marker right off the wall!

Go to Wallyworld and pick up a bottle of Attwood Black Streak Remover. You'll love the results. I've found that their boat cleaning products are fantastic. The Hull Cleaner works wonders.

Safe and happy boating always!!!

I have tried a magic eraser, and it does work wonders getting the black streaks off my white rub rail.

However, for the deck and hull the staining is so extensive, I was hoping that to find something that I could spray on/wipe off. The Attwood stuff sounds like it may be the ticket.

Thanks!

Your going to love the Attwood line. Of all places to find a superior boat product, Wallyworld:rolleyes:, who would have thought??? You can get Attwood products at many marinas and boating stores too. It's not a Wallyworld exclusive, but you probably know that. Pick up both the Black Streak remover and the Hull Cleaner. The hull Cleaner, you just apply it, wait a few minutes, and hose it off. I like to wipe it before I hose it off, just in case it needs a little more time to work.

Safe and happy boating always!!!

From the current edition of Boating magazine: Use Soft Scrub. But never use it on glossy gelcoat.

Rust Aid from Lowes. It has taken off every stain I have ever had on my non-skid.

I ordered some Starbrite Hull Cleaner. Sprayed it on, hosed it down, and then hit it with a damp cloth and all stains and scuffs disappeared. Good stuff.

Soft Scrub for me on non-skid, been using it for years. Good Luck.

Bath room scrub & bubbles "cheap" and an old school scrub brush. Unless you know somebody with one of those twin bristle floor machines

Most all of the above will remove the stains. Just read the instructions as some do not get along well with any metals.

After cleaning, I use Mop & Glo kitchen floor wax on my non-skid/pebbled surface fiberglass floor. It puts a nice sheen on the floor without being slippery. It also puts a barrier between the deck and the next round of stains making them easier to remove next time.

God I'd hate to see her reaction to a good day of Blue fishing. :D
