hi.
i took off the tilt motor and found out that my tilt shaft is broken.
i took off clutch cap and got most part out.
now i'm stuck where the clutch gear (big brass one) don't slide out.
and i took out the c-clip from the back end and try to push the tilt shaft out from the tilt motor area, don't slide out.
anyone knows how to remove that clutch gear?
after clutch gear remove do the tilt shaft with the worm gear just slide out from the back end?
thanks.

Re: remove clutch gear and worm gear and tilt shaft

The round plate i circled in red, is a disc held in by a snap ring. You need to remove the snap ring. Then hitting the brass gear with a soft drift and hammer about the 10 O'clock position (drawn in green) will pop the disc out the back. Then you can remove the big brass gear and shaft. The shaft is something like $12 from GLM brand new, so should be a cheap fix-up. you also want to replace the o-ring on the round disc. If the disc won't go, you might need to warm the housing with a propane torch,and/or use some penetrating oil.
