Remove OMC Stringer steering cable

Ok I need some help. I'm going to be removing my OMC Stringer engine and the steering cables are still attached to the engine in a box like thing. If someone knows how I can get these off it would be appreciated otherwise I'll just be cutting it off. Thanks
