Hi,

my Sea Ray 220 SSE had SmartCraft preinstalled. I want to extend it with the gateway at the dashboard. The preinstalled cable is one piece from engine to tachometer. I don?t want to insert a new one, so I think about removing the resistor at the dashboard site.
I know the thread how to disassemble the connector: http://forums.iboats.com/forum/engi...w-to-disassemble-a-smartcraft-cable-connector

But can somebody tell where the resistor is in terminating cables? Is it in the body of the connector and can I remove it without problems?
I will use a junction box, so either I take a terminatorplug for the junction box or I use the connector body with resistor for the short cable to the SC1000.

Thank you and best regards
Martin

Guess I could use a bit more info on your setup. Do you have a single or twin engine setup?

For a single engine install it should be like in the pic below
