It's a good Idea to pull it at the end of the season to check for fishing line wrapped around the shaft, which can cut oil seals...it's also good to clean and grease the splines each fall, then re-install.
No, I guess not...But I always change lower unit fluid in the fall before real cold weather hits, and for customers, that's when I check prop-shaft..<br />I change props so often on mine, I have a rag-bag and grease on board...
