hello there
I am new to boat repair, so I would like to learn and find out a couple of things

I am currently working on a renken 1950. I got the boat pretty cheap, but the floor is a bit soft in front of the "engine doghouse", between the seats and in front of the driver seat. I would think that the floor is soft in those spots due to high traffic. is there any way to remove and replace the soft patches without having to rip up the whole floor?

Read some threads in the restoration forum about others who had 'soft floors'. Typically the structure underneath the floor is even softer and needs to be replaced.

What T says. Starts small and grows big! Just the way it is. Lots of good guys here to go thru it with you.

Best answer. NO If your deck is that soft...You've got a LOT of negative issues going on under the deck. Rip out the entire deck and be prepared for LOTS of serious issues under it. A conservative estimate for repairs is...200 man hours and $2-4K
Sorry but it's just the nature of Boat Restoration.
