repaint or just remove it???

i have a 23ft sunbird and i removed the bottom paint, it was like tar paint well anyways should i just sand the rest of the paint and just leave the fiberglass or should i sand and repaint??? if i repaint any tips for a good long lasting paint job??

LOL been there! That "tar paint" is actually slime that turned solid normally from being docked in a lake. I had a boat years ago that I initially thought was painted black and it was just years of grime. Real tough stuff.

Just my opinion....... trailer boat? I would leave it clean without paint. If it is docked or moored I would get good quality bottom paint depending if it is salt water or fresh water (there are paints designed for both)

no my boat will be on trailer... i would like it to be clean but if i sand the paint away wont it damage the fiberglass/gelcoat??

Well, do not get too aggressive. Wet sanding and polishing the gel coat will get it to shine again.......

It may not be worth the work..... you could sand and repaint without using a specific bottom paint but a regular paint to save money.
