Ive got a '57 18hp FD-11, I ordered a repair manual on CD from eBay and just got it today. The CD covers many years of the old motors. So what Im wondering is what the paper repair manuals are like because Ive never seen one before. What I was expecting was step by step instructions, I would call what I got more of an overview with info and tips.

Re: Repair Manuals

the Johnson 10th edition paper manual also covers many years and hp. the reason is that the motor are very similar, with just minor changes. start a thread about your specific situation, there are many here that are familar with those motors.

Re: Repair Manuals

if those CD's are clymer or seloc based their not much help.
I have a seloc and gave up using it, the engines are so simple I did the ignition with just minimal info gleaned from reading here.

Re: Repair Manuals

I'm at the stage, health wise that I'm thinking about clearing all of mine out, I have service manuals, and parts manuals, plus service bulletins clear back to the 50's, but how does one deal with all of that bulk? I don't want to run to the post office with them, one at a time.

Re: Repair Manuals

So what do the year or motor specific Johnson paper manuals look like? Do they have step by step instructions on fixing the motors?
