replace fuel line question

I am by no means a boat expert, but I try to fix things myself, so excuse my novice post.

I have a 95 Fourwinns 190 SD with 5.0 OMC. She has a fuel leak coming from the carb to fuel pump line connection where the fuel line meets the carb. The brass nut is chewed up pretty bad, and I am assuming that I can not tighten enough before it starts to strip more, so the flange is not sealed. I have taken it all apart and thought I got it sealed but after a while it would start to leak again. So I want to replace the line. It is a metal hard line.
Here are the two answers I get about fixing this:
From friends at work-?just cut the line and clamp a rubber fuel line?
From boat shops-bring it down and we can make a new one, or another shop said that VP makes one that will fit it, but have to order it, when I asked does it need to be another metal line they say yes, no rubber.
I found this one the iboats website-

my question is that the above one says it can be used to replace metal lines, are those bendable joints that I see on the pic of the replacement line, so it can bend down and around the engine like the metal line does?

Thanks!
I do not post a lot, I seem to find a wealth of info just searching.

Re: replace fuel line question

DO NOT just cut the line and clamp on some hose.

If you have a local shop (does not have to be marine) a new steel line can be made in just a few minutes for not a lot of money.

The universal line you linked to has metal ends with flared fittings and a long section of A1 hose in the middle so it can bend around justabout anything.
