Replace Power Tilt and Trim with manual

Ok guys, here is a question.
I have 50 hp 1989 Evinrude. It is a tiller model, which i am converting to remote controls. I just realized that the switch on the side taht is resonsible for T&T is not working (nothing happens when i use it). My question is - can i remove the Power T&T parts and replace them with manual ones in case it is going to cost me a small fortune to fix the Power T&T?
I do not seem to be able to find parts on Evinrude site for manual tilt.... does that mean that I just need to remove the power T&T assembly and them operate it manually or there should be some other parts installed?

there have to be parts installed. but they sure do not show on the diagrams. it will probably cost you more to convert than to fix the T n T unit.

Hmmm, i was hoping for the easy convertion. I am not sure why it doies not work. and I cannot really test it by the Claymers manual since it is a Tiller and Clymers does not cover that model. I just know that it has a switch on the side that goes up or down and it does not do anything when i connect battery. Wonder if there is a way to hardwire the pump to battery to test it......
