First I would like to say this site is amazing! ALOTS of useful info here!

About to buy a 1979 EBKO I/O 17'. The deck could be replaced in it but not a must at this time. What i was wondering is, after laying the plywood down do you screw it down or attach it with resin and glass? Want to get all this straight before i actually tear into it.

Re: Replaceing deck

hi.....welcome.....this site is far more awesome than you realize......when you get to know the guys......it just gets better......this is a real family.

as far as your boat......the deck is fiberglassed from the bottom......then screwed to the stringers....then the screws are removed.....then the screw holes are filled with a sealant, (epoxy, or resin, pl9000 or 3m 5200) then the screws are replaced, then it is fiberglassed over with a minimun 8 oz glass.

cheers

Ahhh thanks....was wondering what would help keep the water from soaking into the stingers and rotting them. Thanks for the help!
