Have any of you used a replcement steg like the blackfin? Do they work well? Any comments?

I had a replacement Mercury Skeg welded onto my inline six. It was like new.

Most of your prop shops will also rebuild a broken skeg. If you remove it yourself, it will cost less than if you have a prop shop do it.

The one I was looking at is a epoxy attached poly eruathan something. It comes in three sizes and you cut the top to fit your motor. It was about $70.

I think you could get one welded in place for a similar amount. Sure beats epoxy down there.
