US - Click in the Forum help in the sig below and look at the photo attachment topics. Most of us use a photo hosting site like Photobucket and use the IMG code pasting method because it is simple and works well. Give it a try.

Ive used photobucket for years. Cant get the IMG code to copy for some reason.

Click the IMG box and paste it in the post.

Who built a porch on top of your new Islander?

Wow,That's something else.

You might want to wait and look around for a donor or parted out boat that has the correct or close to it windshield. Here's a guy who will probably sell the whole boat for less than what you might pay for a new or custom made windshield. He is asking too much, but has had it for sale for a long time and seems pretty motivated..... His has an upper windshield. This is probably too far away, though I can get to the Albany area in 5+ hours, but others may come up closer.

The Admiral may want an addition the boathouse when you get that greenhouse off the boat....

Interesting for sure....

Looks better already! Have you considered a closed bow or even bowrider windshield? They're around on Craigslist if you watch it. Great boat, BTW.
Edit: GABoater had that covered ^^ way before I showed up.

Oh yeah she looks so much better now without the lighthouse on top of her! :thumb:

Pics are working, too. :thumb:

Way better looking now, even without the W/S.

The ones I posted are all 4 piecers. I skipped over the those with the opening center window and there were a bunch. Just like the newer Holidays, a walk thru doesn't look bad with a closed bow or on top of the cabin. And it lets in cooling air when the sun is hot.

Update. I gave up trying to find a used windshield. Although I found many for sale, none would "easily" work for this boat. I have a fishing trip planned for this Wednesday, so time to get busy building one.

I purchased a 4'x8' 1/4" sheet of Lexan and some Vinyl trim and started cutting.

I used PVC Cement to bond it together.

I then used aluminum C channel along the top and started caulking up the seems. I will finish up tonight and take a couple pics. I'm really happy how its turning out.

Sorry, just now saw this, yup, my windshield is a gonner. I had so many boat parts here in the shop it started to take over the place so I cleaned out. Mine wouldn't have likely worked anyway - little different model/year.

Boy, that "hard top" was really bad!

No problem. By building one, I was able to make it 3" taller than the original. 27" instead of 24". I planed on 28" but I was unsuccessful scoring and breaking the lexan on the first cut. Table saw proved to be the better option.

OK...I finished it up last night. Although not in these pics, I installed the anchor light and a piece of aluminum up the middle to tie the two half together. Its a lot stiffer/stronger than I expected. No flex at all.

Leaving tomorrow first thing for fishing trip 3 hours away. Only then will I know if she floats and how well she runs.

Come back with a good fishing report. :D
