Wow thanks for all the great input. Been busy working on it and haven't checked on here. Got me another 305 for it, even though I would love the power of a 350 much more. By the way it is 2 barrel carb so I would have to change to 4 barrel for the 350 and intake which adds up quick. Did get the marine head gaskets which are stainless around the water ports. Took the roller cam out of the original boat engine and got some brass core plugs. Next time going with the 5.7 cause I love to hear the screams when I gas it. Even with the 305 it will throw you to the back if you ain't holding on. I bet it would fly with the 5.7
