Replacing floor on my Stinger Bass boat (1980's model)

I have the old flooring out that was rotting away as well as the carpet. I am now trying to decide how to approach this task and create the best stinger plan possible and im not exactly sure. Any one have any recommendations?

There is a lot of cleaning to be done and i cant decide if i want to do carpet or some sort of coating over the plywood after i get the flooring done. Thanks guys!

Also, i plan on ripping up all the old wood in the pictures. Should i get in there with an electric sander and sand the inside hull down?

Welcome aboard ! :welcome:
It's looking pretty rough under the deck .. Probably gunna need a full resto ... It will be easier to get to everything with the top cap off . I'm sure the transom needs replacing also so you need to check that out .. Dig around and inspect as much as you can .. First thing you will need to build a stand for the outboard .
Take lots of pics of everything you take apart . That will make it easier when it's time to put things back together ..

i appreciate all the info and the response! so, as far as the transom you mean the very back? And a motor stand to hold the motor while my resto is underway?

another question, is marine grade 3/4" plywood absolutely necessary for the decking? I cant seem to find any around here!

Yes the transom is the section that the motor is attached to .. Yep if the transom needs replacing you will need to remove the motor . A stand with wheels would be the way to go .. You could use 1/2" ply for your floor . Marine grade is good but a good ext type ply will do if made with waterproof glue ..
