Replacing wood

Good advice to be sure but I have learned, through both advice and direct experience, it's smarter to plan on replacing every nut and bolt involved in the bunk replacement and just going ahead and planning on cutting them off with a battery powered sawzall. It is so much quicker and easier to cut them off than try to break rusty nuts loose. A LOT easier.

Anticipate. Bring more tools than you need; bring more parts than you need. You may well find you need more than you thought. DAMHIKT. Hint: hardware dropped onto gravel can be very difficult to spot.

Well I made the rails. NO biggie. I couldn't jack up the boat in my yard. Too dangerous, Made it to lake..... Just in time too. Got them replaced in Parking lot. again NO biggie. The Boat sit's and rides VERY nicely on the trailer now..... MAN, I'm glad I posted. Thanks a million guys. I had never done a repair like this. BUT again NO real biggie....

Thank you!! I am amazed at hot it sits. It's Perfect on the trailer. Last nite. " while looking for a hotel " I had a young girl " passenger " come up besides me. and she said . Hey I like your Boat. Then. about 5 minutes later a guy pulled up besides us. at a red light and said same thing..... Must have been because I replaced the rails!!!........

Two suggestions from years of experience....

First..... Don't reuse the carpet... It's cheap and just not worth it...
Second.... Get the boat off the trailer.... So much easier to work on it that way... You don't need a lake tho, your yard will work just fine.
