What was on it originally? Were you happy with the original setup?

The Suzi "big block" 4 cylinder 175s are really nice. My guide on Lake Of The Woods uses one and it is a good, smooth and relatively quiet performer.

e-tec? $$$

Other 2-stroke DI motors? Optimax? Yammi v-max HPDI?

Are you looking at 4-strokes only? There is a bit a weight penalty with most of these.

Are the motors mounted on a bracket or directly to the transom? What is your transom height?

Are you going brand new?

Re: repower 261 mako

So, you currently have twin 250 Yamahas?

If that is the case, I would think you want a little more than only 150 twins.

Also, if you are currently rigged for Yamahas it may be easiest to stick with that brand. Although, there are still plenty of rigging components that will need to updated.

What kinda budget are you thinking on this? Suzuki's may be the least expensive.

Were you happy with the Yamahas? The new generation F225-300 are supposed to debut at the Miami Boat Show in February. The F250 lost 46 lbs while gaining 900cc displacement and VVT. But Yamaha hasn't brought that technology to the midrange line yet, and I take it that you're trying to keep costs down by going to a smaller pair. The SHOs are priced right in between the Merc XS and the E-TEC HOs at Ed's, so it looks that Yamaha is going to price them fairly competitively, but they are only available in 20" shafts. If I'm not mistaken that boat is rated to 400 hp, twin configuration?

The Zuke's would nice motors for that boat. You should be able to get a pair of 200 Opti's pretty reasonable if you feel like dealing with the oil.

yamaha dealer also stated I can use wire harness, also It would be great if the engines were lighter new models 225. I owned a 23 potter seacraft with 200's mercs
big console , no t-top, transom was raised , closed off stern bait well , wave wash ,
boat was great. I was hoping to get the most out of a new set of engines, Thanks
