I have a 1972 MC-1 Drive W/ 165 L-6 Engine In my boat. Also have a good running 283 SB Chevy Engine. 1) Will the 283 bolt up to the L-6 bellhousing? 2) Will Manifolds from any early model SB chevy fit eg. 305,307,350 ? 3) What exhaust Y Would i get to bolt to my transom? Weighing it out! Thanks

1,.. Yes, it's a Chevy...
2,.. Yes, it's a Chevy SB, their All the same on the motorside...
3,.. That,+ the Gear Ratio of the drive might be the Real Problems....

I knew that was coming!!! Piece work. BTW I meant will my l-6 flywheel housing fit the 283? thanks

yes, 250 cid 6 cyl and 283, =same bell housing, same bolt up on flywheel ,same ballance. all small block chevy exhaust manifolds have the same bolt pattern. front motor mount position will be alittle different. if you want more power why not try to find a 292 cid 6 cyl truck engine. gobs of torque and bolts right in
