Repowering from Force 94 70hp

Looking for some compatibility information in repowering a pontoon boat that originally was powered by a Force 94 70hp motor. Are the original controls compatible with any other motors? Will Mercury motors up to a certain year be the best bet to repower without changing all the controls to match?

Motors a Force.
Some of the connections could be Mercury or Force.Depending on the model???
Need pics of the linkage.
With pics and the serial/model# I can get a better idea of what you have.
Changing to a newer Merc you'll need to change shifters(maybe).
Changing to an older force it would be easier.
