reverse lock on 1976 MERC 1750

I have a 1976 MERCURY 1750 with power trim. I was wondering if someone could answer the following question: On this motor is there a reverse lock mechanism since it has power trim? I have looked and looked and can't see how anything other than the power trim keeps the motor from lifting up. I have the factory manual for this motor but all it says is that I should check the reverse lock if my motor doesn't have power trim. Is there anyone that has a similar motor that might be able to tell me? THanks <br /> mwilloughby2@kc.rr.com

On my 1972 Merc 1150 w/power trim the reverse lock is just a white colored strap, but the only thing I could see it doing is stopping the motor from going up 90 degrees or so.<br />As far as I know when you install power trim the regular reverse lock must be removed.

there is no other mechanism beside the trim.
