Hey guys,

So a little update on where im at with my 91 bayliner

I have purchased another force 120, shes mounted on my transom, and the steering cable is hooked up.
(ps i have another force 120 worth of parts, if you need anything shoot me a PM and i can pull a part off, also will be posting parts on Ebay in the next few weeks.)

Now i have to get my ignition system hooked up, but heres the issue, i have a mercury force now, and it has the pin connector, where my boat is rigged up for the c-annode wiring system of an older force motor. i will attach pictures, any ideas on what to do here.

Re: Rewiring an Ignition

Well, I really like the Mercury connector so if it were my boat, I would look for a wire cable with the male connector and mate it to your wiring. You could run the whole cable up to the ignition switch and not have any crimp connectors.

HOWEVER: If for some reason that is not desirable or possible, then you would need to cut the connector off and splice your wiring to the engine wires. Colors will be different but wire functions are the same.

There is also the POSSIBILITY of crimping bullet connectors to your wires and plugging them into the holes in the existing connector.

What about the control cables? Does the replacement engine have Mercury ends?

Too bad you didn't get the Mercury wiring with the engine.

Thanks for the reply frank.
Do you have the pin designations of what wire go where on the mercury female adaptor?
if so i am going to look into the bullet connector option, if not i will search out a mercury male adaptor end and will still need to figure out which pins go where to splice in the wiring.

As far as the control cables go, he had his on with eye hooks, but i saved my ball joint ends from my old motor so i will be mounting those on my control arms and then attaching my control cables that way.

Cheers
Blake
