Roller question

On my trailer I have your basic 2 bunk 4 center roller setup. The roller on the back of my trailer don't even touch the boat. It also sits higher than the bottom of the boat and I have to take it off to unscrew the plug. I am thinking of just leaving it off. Is this a good or bad idea?

I don't know your setup but I'm guessing you need it when you load to avoid banging your keel into the cross member.

How can you possibly push the boat off the trailer to launch it?

You didn't say whether you have an inboard, outboard, or I/O, or whether your boat is wood, glass or aluminum. Some boats need keel support at the transom.

Regardless of what type boat you have, no question that the trailer is not set up correctly.

Normally, all rollers should be lined up straight to support the keel, then the bunks are adjusted to keep the boat level.

Sounds like you need to lower the roller, move the winch stand and boat back, and then readjust the bunks.

Agree on the don't remove it.
Pics would help but adjusting the winch stand back a little may cure the problem.
