Rot question

Since tearing out my floor and finding nothing but completely disintegrated wood, does that mean my transom is also turned to mulch? How to check ? Heres some pictures http://s213.photobucket.com/albums/cc199/73delmagic/

i would not be surprized. drill a hole in the transom, if you get what looks like new wood probably ok, i have my doubts on that though.
