RPM Gauge, Speed odometer gauge problem!!!

Rookie in needs of assistant!!!!!

1.My rpm gauge remains at 1200 even when I turn off the battery. How do I test and fix this problem?

2. My speed odometer is not working period. How do I test and fix this problem?

I have a 1985 Searay 350 I/O Mercruiser V8 GM block engine (probably Alpha one). Please!!!! any inputs to go about fixing these probles are much appreciated!!!!!

If it works ok otherwise, don't worry about it. Some do that at times.

Boats don't have odometers, Most speedometers work on air pressure. Usually have a pickup on the transom that sticks down in the water. They can pop up, and the hose can be disconnected.

Check the hose thats coming off the plastic spike at the back of the ski. sometimes the spike gets plugged up. sometimes the hose gets cracked and leaks. You need low low PSI liek 5-7 PSI anything more than that can break the speedometer. I got a extra one in case mine ever goes bad but it hasnt gone bad yet
