Mark over at bassboatcentral told me I should be gunning for my rpm range to be 5800 in hot weather and 6000 in cold weather. Motor is 1992 Yamaha Pro V 200 on a Ranger 391V. Does this sound right?

Re: RPMS

i havent had a really slick day to run it wide open sice I had the head resurfaced, but around 5700. I gotta get a new prop tho. Thats why im lookin for where I should be in terms of rpms. I think i should be able to turn the turbo lightning a little faster than the prop I have now.

Re: RPMS

Keep in mind the engime has a RPM limiter of 6100 RPM's. You will not feel it hit the limiter. If in doubt whether the prop is hitting the limiter, you can disconnect for testing.
