Rubber edge trim

Has anyone used "trim-lok" type edge trim before? If you haven't it just looks like square rubber channel molding. Chances are you have some on your boat. The stuff I got looks just like the original.<br /><br />The thing is, it has metal clips in it and it is tough to cut. They make a tool to cut 90 degree bends, but I think it is probaly expensive and it only cuts one type of corner. Most of the bends are less than 90 or are inside bends.<br /><br />I'm guessing I can use a heat gun to help it along, I just want to make sure the tight corners look good. <br /><br />Anyway if anyone has used this tuffplease let me know how it went.

To cut a nice 45* angle on that stuff try sandwiching the trim between layers of plywood and hold ti in a vice (3 pieces, two on outsides, one on inside so it doesn't crush). Then using a hacksaw, make a 45* cut through all 3 layers of wood. Hopefully, the wood will hold the trim solidly in place as you cut across the "bands" of steel inside the trim. <br /><br />The other thing to try is cutting with a pair of sheet metal sheers. Snip up both legs, bend some out of the way, then cut across the top. I have cut this stuff with sheers before but never had to do an angle cut.<br /><br />BTW, where did you buy the trim from?
