Run engine on stand

​ ​​​​​ i bought a engine run stand to in my boat engine I built before I install it to make sure it has no problems. I have a Yamaha sterndrive. Does anyone know how to wire it to the battery to make it start and run? Here’s the schematics

+12 volts to the purple wire for ignition, jump the s-terminal on the starter to crank (yellow with red tracer).

run motors all the time that way.

BTW, didnt even have to look at your schematic. wiring colors are standard. [h=2]American Boat and Yacht Council Standards[/h]

So do I not need to wire up and use the ignition switch on the run stand to start it?

you can if you want, I use two wires with alligator clips on the ends

Nope,..... Just use jumper cables to the starter, 'n a jumper lead to the coil's (+) tiny terminal,.....

To stop the engine disconnect the battery cable. No juice, no run!!
