Re: run gas out of carbs after every run?
If you run the gas all the way out of the carbs you starve your main bearings for lube. Not a good thing over the long haul. What I do at the end of the season is put Stabil in the fuel and run that through the carbs. Shut the motor down and I'm done. I also use the fogging oil. This is the 4th season I've had it and it starts up and runs perfectly in the spring. It usually starts on the second crank. In addition to running the Stabil through it, I suppose you can drain the fuel bowls. The other risk of draining the carbs is that all the gaskets and such tend to dry out and split.

Also the last tank of the season gets pumped out and I burn it off in my car. I usually have about 3 or 4 gallons left over. Fresh gas goes in on the first start of the season. I make sure the last trip of the season burns most of my gas. I mix that 3 or 4 gallons to 12 gallons of straigt gas and I've yet to foul anything in my car. The car that I burn it in is my beater so not to worried about it.
