I have dual 5.7 and am just now getting boat ship shaped (hope). I have experinced your problem before via a SR AJ with dual 5.7s. You may have internal blockage on the "HoT" riser. Take it off and soak it in a gal of muratic acid for a day . Then soak it in a gal of baking soda/water to nutralize acid. Examine other end to see if you can get close hanger inside passages to expidite rust removal. I have always experienced riser clogging befor exhaust manifolds. And, usually the contact points of risers and manifold become too thin. Now, ask yourself why did hose blow off??????????????? Too much pressure? Why???????

Hi tank1949. What you are suggesting makes a lot of sense, I checked for blockages. Had the manifold and riser off - no issues.

This whole misadventure started with the operator being an idiot (that would be me). I had 5 adults and 3 kids on board with lots of gear. I got tired of telling folks to move to the front of the boat when getting up on plane and tried to power up. It was very sluggish getting up on plane and I am lucky I did not cook the coupler too. Very dumb thing to do. I also suspect that the line was not clamped on as tight as it should have been. I think the "fitting" on the alpha 1/gen 1 is a very disappointing piece of engineering for such a critical cooling water line that moves up and down frequently. If what you are suggesting is true...then the engineering is even more disappointing that a high volume, low pressure impeller can build enough pressure to pop off cooling lines due to a mild restriction in a riser or manifold.
