I have never run my motor on muffs. Sould the hose be just slightley turned on so the water doesn't escape the muffs? Or should it be turned up some so it does a little?
TIA
Eric
all the way on, and prepare to get your feet wet. i put one of those little stop **** valves on the hose, next to the muff. this way you don't flood the yard. you can turn the water on and off right there.
I take issue with full house pressure when running on muffs. Think about it. Most home city water systems can run 60 - 80 PSI. Granted, the muffs generally let water escape but at what pressure? The internal shaft seals are not designed to withstand those pressures. Run enough water that you get a solid tell-tale stream and don't rev the engine higher than 2500 RPM and you'll be just fine. Most outboards idle at about 10 PSI water pressure so 60 - 80 PSI does you no good anyway.
