I have some friends that tell me to always run my Yamaha 25's dry for Winter but then some say I should just pull the choke and then drain the carb leaving oil in the motor? Which is the best? Any advise is welcome.

Add fuel stabilizer to the fuel, run the engine until you know it's been drawn into the engine. Fog the engine. Drain and refill the lower unit. Store the engine vertically. Draining the carbs leaves air and oil residue that can cause gum and varnish. If they are full, no air, and with stabilized fuel, you will be set to go in the spring.

if your worried most 25 yamahas have a fuel bowl drain, but even running it till it quits will leave fuel in the boawl.
I either stabilize FRESH fuel or drain the bowl.
